5 months

Today Melah is 5 months... And she is getting more fun by the day!! She is VERY active and looking everywhere, and wanting to be everywhere else that she isn't... She loves to stand up and she is just finding her own feet! She also likes to hold her own bottle... Which goes better sometimes then others! She has a mind of her own and isn't afraid to let ya know what she wants! Her favorite things to eat are peas, sweet potatoes, mangos and peaches. Mom is still making all her food at home and its so nice to know she is getting good food! Today we made squash and pears.. Updates on that to come. She is sleeping 10 1/2 hrs straight threw now which is great for all of us!!she has learned to roll over while being swaddled now, so that's the end of swaddling :(. She loves to be swaddled so its a hard adjustment on all of us! I just use a blanket to swaddle her so her arms can be free at night, but during naps I still swaddle her all they way and she loves is! She is 16 pounds (2 pounds more then last month!) It's so fun to see all the new things she is learning to do now! Getting so big!!

Melah got to see some goats for the first time this past weekend! She liked to pet them.. Thanks aunt Sue for letting us come out!

First Easter

Although we didn't do much for Easter, we still had a great day! Haillee bought her sister her Easter dress and it looked so cute on her! The Easter bunny delivered a basket and laid some Eggs for Haillee. My In-laws surprised me today with a picture of Melah with the Easter Bunny.. Haillee wouldn't go near it! It was a beautiful day with lots of fun!

WE HAVE A ROLLER

3/26/13-  she has figured out how to roll over! And she is so proud of herself when she does. LOL.. she lets everyone know all about it.  She is getting so big and growing up so fast!

Peas

The first bite of peas didn't go to well! But after a couple tries she now loves them!! She eats the entire bowl!! She is also so close to holding her own bottle. She reaches out for it and puts it in her mouth, but has a hard time holding it the entire time! Getting more independent everyday!!

New Pants

So after going threw lots of clothes that were all graciously handed down to me, I realized I had lots and lots of cute clothes, but all pink pants! So Grandma Payne was happy to finally buy Melah her first clothing items.. Some different colored pants!! So here is bright and sunny Melah getting ready to head to daycare. You might be able to tell my the picture she is just really OK with the car seat... Not a huge fan but doesn't scream like she did at the beginning.

New foods

So we have started Melah on some new foods! So far she is loving the foods!! She chows down everything I have given her. Apparently she has a new pose! This is her after every bite she took, then put her hand down for another bite and hand went right back up! Lol! Yes I had to put her in another pair of PJ's before bed! We don't care about food on clothes or high chair or the floor... Mama is good at cleaning! :) this is sweet potato night! It has been brought to my attention that I actually sit like this a lot as well....

16 weeks

Today Melah had her 16 week check up and along with that came more shots :(. She is 14 lbs and 24 inches tall! Already 2 feet! She is in the 70th percentile for height and weight, but above normal for development! The Dr said she acts way older then a 3 1/2 month should be... He said now the hard job is to try to stay smarter then her! Yikes. Lord help us now! We are going to have a 2 year old going on 13! He said she is more then ready to start food (which is good since we already have!) so we are doing rice cereal and sweet potatoes! She is ok with the rice, but LOVES the taters!! She devours it and does so awesome at eating off a spoon! Her new favorite activity is to sit. She loves to sit with help and play and look around. She has been sitting in her high chair with her toys and playing. She is also very close to rolling from back to stomach. Her little arm gets in the way but is so close. She is now consistently sleeping 8-10 hours at night so that's awesome for mom and dad :). Everyone at daycare just loves her, I walk in in the morning and all the kids yell "MELAH!!" I hear she talks to every single one of them! They go outside and play (including Melah) which she loves! I have one very happy healthy little girl! She is always smiling and happy. We couldn't be more happy and blessed! We love you baby girl!

First food

Well we are now at the 3 month mark, and although a lot of studies find you not supposed to feed infants food before 4-6 months, but this girl is hungry! So I made a small bowl of rice tonight mixed with mommies milk... And she devoured it!! She sat up and opened her mouth and came towards the spoon and actually put her mouth around the spoon... As if she has been doing this for months! She inhaled the food without spitting any out... All good signs Indicating the baby is ready for some food. She started freaking out because I wasn't fast enough... LOL! I have always had such a good little eater! She ate all that I had made (about 2 tablespoons worth). Took her bottle and was a very happy girl! I'm not sure what changed in babies that they can't have food till 6 months, cause when I was little I was given food at 3 months as well... And I'm alive and well... And since she is so hungry I thought I would give it a shot and if she didn't take it well I would wait another month, but she loved it!! Can't wait till 4 months and start giving her different types of food!! My little baby is growing up! I have done lots of reading and researching and found nothing indicating any deaths in kids for giving them food to early... So here we are starting rice cereal!

Happy girl

I have a smiler!! Melah is one happy little girl!! Her sleeping schedule is very hit and miss, but usually I'm only up once or twice at night. She is such a happy girl, only crying when she is hungry or tired! She loves to play with all of her toys, the newest being the exersaucer. She can turn the seat all the way around on her own, and even knows how to hit the buttons to make the music play!! It's so fun to see the new things she can do daily! Today mommy got some exercise in and went rollerblading with Melah, she loved the stroller and looking around! I can't wait till she is old enough to really enjoy all the ducks and animals! Bring a mom is the hardest thing I have ever done... But also the most amazing!! Melah is one special little girl! <3

First cabin trip

A couple weeks ago we took Melah up to the cabin for the first time. She did awesome, and even enjoyed being outside looking at all the snow. Poor kid has inherited mom and dads allergies, so it's already a battle trying to keep her cleared up.. But otherwise still doing great! She is getting so much bigger.. Hard to believe! 2 months

Melah had her two month dr appt yesterday. She is now 11 pounds 22.8 inches. She is a healthy growing girl. The girls at daycare just love her and take "to" good of care of her.. She is so spoiled there. I had to kindly let them know they can't hold her ALL day, she can lay down to sleep as well. Nothing I should ever be complaining about :). They are so wonderful there, I'm so lucky to have found this place. Melah is on a really good routine, waking up only once for food in the middle of the night, an we are moving her back to her room. Last night she stayed in her room all night. We have tried in the past to put her in her room, but every time we walk out she wakes up screaming. So talking with her doctor yesterday, he said they have an incredible sense of smell and can tell your not in the room. So to put a used shirt by her in her crib. (We did that with our dog and it worked awesome!) so I put a shirt if mine with her last night, slept amazingly! Whew! I thought we were going to be in for a challenge. Worked great!
